Which one we would buy

The Classic is the better general-purpose mattress and the one we recommend first. It supports the lower back marginally better, it is $300 cheaper, and its three firmness options mean you can match it to how you actually sleep rather than accepting a single medium-firm.

The Latex Hybrid is the one to buy if you care about materials, if you want the longest-lasting mattress we have measured, or if you actively dislike the stuck-in-the-bed sensation of foam. Latex pushes back; you sleep on it rather than in it, and people tend to have strong opinions in both directions.

On cooling they are effectively tied — 1.8°F against 2.1°F is inside the range where bedding matters more than the mattress. On motion transfer, both are poor, and the latex is slightly worse because it is bouncier.
